A Merry Movie ChristmasOn Saturday, Dec. 12, the magic returns to where it all started. That’s right! The newly renovated Electric Theater will serve as host of “A Merry Movie Christmas.” This year marks a bit of a milestone for this grand cinematic celebration of all things Christmas. That’s because this holiday season, “A Merry Movie Christmas” is celebrating five years of the warm and fuzzies. Attending “A Merry Movie Christmas” is a great way to support and encourage local filmmaking. Additionally, a portion of proceeds will go to the All-Abilities Park at Tonaquint.

A Merry Movie Christmas“A Merry Movie Christmas” is an all-ages event which will feature a special matinee presentation of The 2015 Holiday Edition of the Guerilla Shorts Showcase,” a collection of Christmas-inspired short films put together by passionate storytellers based right here in southern Utah. Attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorite short as there will be an Audience Choice Award presented at the end of the festivities.

In addition to what programmers are certain will be an entertaining collection of short films filled to the brim with Christmas spirit, there’s also a rumor going around that a very special guest will be taking time out of his hectic December schedule to make an appearance at this special get together. “Who?” you ask. Let’s just say he’s an incredibly jolly fellow with a thick white beard, and kids from all around the world positively adore him. Yet another reason to bring the whole family out to this wonderful event.

“A Merry Movie Christmas” continues a proud tradition of encouraging and supporting local filmmakers. More importantly, though, event organizers are looking to honor the true spirit of the holidays by raising some money for the All-Abilities Park in Tonaquint.

Let’s help pack the house and collectively share in the cinematic joy of this most wonderful time of year.
