Because Animals Matter hosts Get Bark To Nature Zion RetreatBecause Animals Matter has partnered with SpringHill Suites in Springdale to create the Get Bark To Nature Zion Retreat Dec. 1–3. The all-inclusive getaway weekend unites luxury with the outdoors while surrounded by Zion Canyon and nearby amenities. All proceeds from the event will support Because Animals Matter’s pets and community programs.

The weekend will begin with a welcome reception the evening of Dec. 1 with a hot chocolate bar and local live music followed by a hike under the full moon. Each guest chooses as few or as many activities as they like, from a morning yoga class to guided hiking or biking. All equipment will be provided.

SpringHill will offer daily buffet and hot breakfast options and the Barks and Brews dinner and tasting Dec. 2 in the outdoor grotto. Live music and a cash bar will continue after dinner (open to all, with or without package purchase), and a silent auction will be available throughout the evening.

Reservation packages are available while space remains. Package options are for two in king or two-bed queen suites, and additional single guest packages are available for queen suites. Basic retreat packages are available without the inclusion of Barks and Brews tickets. Instead, they include a voucher toward dinner at the Bit & Spur Restaurant and Saloon, across the road from SpringHill.

Q and A sessions from Because Animals Matter and other experts in their fields will be held Dec. 2 and 3 to offer information on Because Animals Matter, community programs and their impact, and how people ca help as well as financial planning for pets.

Reservations can be made at getbarktonature.com or by emailing info@getbarktonature.com. SpringHill Suites Springdale is a pet-friendly property, but Zion National Park is not as open to dogs. Pets should be kept home for the retreat rather than locked in rooms while visiting the park. Because Animals Matter canine ambassadors will be present at the event, however.

Because Animals Matter is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing animal abuse and neglect through education. All Because Animals Matter programs and services are supported through the generosity of contributors and dedicated volunteers. Because Animals Matter operates both a network of foster homes throughout southwestern Utah and the Because Animals Matter Center in St. George to assist animals in need of finding adoptive homes and as a network of volunteers to support community programs focused on building strong, humane relationships between people and their pets.
