Art for Acres online art auction benefits Sheep Bridge Crossing

During Nov. 1–15, you can bid on beautiful artworks to support open space during Art for Acres, an online benefit art auction for Sheep Bridge Crossing. Perched on the rim of confluence park, a recent conservation project of the Land Trust and the Nature Conservancy, River Rock Roasting Company in La Verkin will host a show featuring many of the artworks during the auction.

Over 25 phenomenally talented and conservation-minded regional artists have contributed their talent, time, and artwork to support land conservation in Virgin.
Sheep Bridge Crossing is a privately owned 419-acre parcel of land that includes over 1.5 miles of the Virgin River corridor as well as the popular lower J.E.M. mountain bike trail and trailhead. It is also home to a diversity of wildlife species and open scenic vistas. Originally slated for a 275-home subdivision, the landowners approached the Virgin River Land Preservation Association and the Nature Conservancy of Utah to see if they would be interested in buying their Sheep Bridge parcel for conservation. After a year of negotiation, there is a contract to purchase the property in place. The fundraising process is in full swing from individual donors to foundations and matching grants.
The artists represented in this art auction embrace the notion of individuals coming together to do something good and lasting and have really stepped up to raise awareness and secure funds to permanently protect this acreage.
