The 2015 Art in Kayenta Festival will be held from Friday, Oct. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 11, and will feature new extended hours: Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the amazing art, the festival will include live music, specialty food vendors, and the return of the popular beer and wine garden. It will also include both a live auction event and an expanded silent auction this year.

The Art in Kayenta Festival will feature 80 juried artists from around the country, including Roland Lee, Benny Goodman, and Mel Mendez. Their collective work will represent painting, photography, ceramics, wood, jewelry, and textiles. Meet the artists at the festival as they showcase their work in booths throughout the three-day event.

The live-artist event, “Art in the Moment,” will take place during the festival on Saturday, Oct. 10, starting at 2 p.m. Twelve select artists will paint, sculpt, or otherwise create side-by-side in a special area as spectators witness, cheer and photograph the artistic process unfold. The live auction of their work will begin on the main stage at 4 p.m.

Art in the Moment artists committed to participate this year include Jennifer Seeley, Paul Twitchell, and Sang Choi, with many more still to confirm.

Additionally, an ongoing silent auction with over thirty works of art will take place during the festival with artwork and bidding forms on display throughout Kayenta Art Village. Closing of bids and the announcement of the winners will be on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m.

Proceeds for the three-day Art in Kayenta Festival will benefit Kayenta Arts Foundation, a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to creating an environment that fosters diverse artistic endeavors for educational and enrichment purposes.
