Bila Gaana will perform a free concert at the Campfire Concert in the Canyon at the Cedar Canyon Nature Park in Cedar City on Friday, Aug. 28, at 7:30 p.m. An acoustic rock band hailing from Cedar City, Bila Gaana frequently performs at charity events and fundraisers. Citing jam band influences, the group has been together for fifteen years.

The Campfire Concert in the Canyon series—now in its seventh year—benefits the Southwest Wildlife Foundation by spreading awareness about the Cedar Canyon Nature Park. The series usually features a guest performer from the southern Utah area but occasionally hosts an act touring through the southern Utah area.

The Southwest Wildlife Foundation is currently working on the future of the Cedar Canyon Nature Park, which will eventually house native wild animals that cannot be released due to injuries. A Visitors and Nature Center will be built on the grounds of the park.

Marshmallows and roasting sticks are provided for the Campfire Concert in the Canyon courtesy of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation, and concerts are always casual. Audience members should consider bringing lawn chairs, blankets, lanterns, or flashlights.

Located 1.5 miles east of Main Street in Cedar City on U.S. Route 14, the fire pit and performance venue is located at the south side of Coal Creek, directly across the park’s green bridge. Parking is available at the bridge entrance site and near the city bridge at the west waterfall, where that footbridge will take you to the city walking path. From there, just follow the paved walkway until reaching the fire pit and venue just a short distance to the east.
