Brigham's Playhouse premieres First Freedom

The Independent

Brigham’s Playhouse has closed their run of “Peter Pan: A New Musical” just in time to open Utah’s premiere of “First Freedom.” Opening Friday, Sept. 26 and running through Nov. 8, “First Freedom” is an original work recreating the Founding Fathers’ struggle to establish religious freedom in Colonial America. The show is set in Virginia, during the fervor of the American Revolution. With a fabulous score by Emmy Award-winning composer Sam Cardon, audiences will encounter James Madison, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and George Mason as they labor to create our nation and the principles it was founded upon. The story illustrates how these mighty men fought with faith, determination, and perseverance to create and preserve forever the freedoms we now enjoy.

Award-winning playwright Rob Lauer and composer Cardon combine humor, truth, suspense, and gripping music to tell this powerful story. This production is directed by Brigham’s Playhouse owner Jamie Young, and the talented cast has thoroughly enjoyed the rehearsal experience. This spectacular musical tells the story in the style of “Les Misérables” and “1776.”  Members of the cast have said that the show and music are phenomenal. Join the cast and crew for the Utah debut of “First Freedom” at Brigham’s Playhouse and experience this nation’s history as you never have before.
