In order to present area children an opportunity for theatrical experience by offering more stage time, additional performing opportunities, and smaller casts, Cedar City Children’s Musical Theatre is offering three sessions of the Disney mini musical “Cinderella Kids” for children of kindergarten age through eighth grade this fall.

Each session of the mini musical consists of a two-week rehearsal session culminating in an approximately 30- to 40-minute performance on the second Saturday evening, with several sessions of the same show depending on interest and need. There will be a maximum of 40 children allowed in each show.

During the first rehearsal, a group audition will be held wherein everyone who is registered will learn the songs and lines. No preparation is needed.

Sessions are broken up to cater to three age groupings: kindergarten through fifth grade, sixth through eighth grade, and—for sibling groups—kindergarten through eighth grade. Children may participate in multiple sessions.

The registration deadline for the first session is Sunday, Sept. 27. Rehearsals will be held Sept. 28 through Oct. 1 and Oct. 5 through Oct. 9 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The mini musical will be performed Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.

The registration deadline for the second session is Nov. 1. Rehearsals will be held Nov. 2 through Nov. 5 and Nov. 9 through Nov. 13 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The mini musical will be performed Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

The registration deadline for the third session is Nov. 29. Rehearsals will be held Nov. 30 through Dec. 3 and Dec. 7 through Dec. 11 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The mini musical will be performed Dec 12 at 7 p.m.

The CCCMT mini musicals are directed by Denise DeMille. Participation costs $30 per child. Tickets will be required to see the performance, and they are $5 each. Each show is approximately 30-40 minutes in length with no intermission. The shows will be performed at the CMT Rehearsal Building. For more information, visit cccmt.org.
