Christmas at the Homestead in Cedar City Dec. 8th – 13th

Christmas at the HomesteadThe Independent

Today through Saturday the Frontier Homestead State Park in Cedar City, in conjunction with the Utah Shakespeare Festival, are hosting Christmas at the Homestead. It will run Mon-Fri from 8am – 5pm and on Saturday from 11am – 8pm. Santa Claus will be there nightly from 5:30 – 8pm. There will be holiday decoration, themed Christmas trees from local artists and artisans, hands-on craft projects each day, holiday music and entertainment, and lots of Christmas shopping.

Frontier Homestead State Park Museum is pleased to announce that Wilhelm and Marty Warburton & Home Girls will be performing seasonal music Saturday December 13 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. as part of the holiday celebration.

In addition to the live music, Christmas readings, hands-on activities and Santa, 10 artists have been invited to create an old-fashioned shopping experience for visitors!  The artists were selected to bring the very best craftsmanship and a wide variety of fine art and crafts to the event. In addition to several artists setting up shop in the Museum, the historic buildings on the grounds of Frontier Homestead will be transformed into authentic pioneer shops, full of unique, hand-crafted items.

This is a perfect opportunity to find that one-of-a-kind holiday gift for that special someone. Whether it’s exclusive handmade soap, a piece of whimsical or fine jewelry, a new painting or piece of art for the living room, a quilt or a toy, you will find it at the Homestead Holiday Art Fair. Come enjoy the festive holiday atmosphere with a cup of hot chocolate or apple cider and other Christmas treat at the Homestead.

The cost is $5.00 per family, or $1.50 for an individual. For more information call 435-586-9290, or visit www.frontierhomestead.org. Frontier Homestead State Park is located at 635 North Main Street in Cedar City.
