Did you #Christmas? Great, now you’re a right-wing extremist

Leftist Grinch consortium the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC, considers anyone who used the #Christmas hashtag to be a potential right-wing extremist.

SPLC’s “hate tracker,” which I actually did not make up just now, keeps tabs on “trends in a community of far-right Twitter users,” according to Breitbart.

The group’s hate tracker also monitors other nefarious hashtags such as #MerryChristmas, #ChristmasEve, and — wait for it — #Jesus.

The SPLC is a nonprofit legal organization based in Montgomery, Alabama. The SPLC classifies a hate group as one that has “beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics.” It says that these groups may engage in speeches, marches, rallies, meetings, publishing, and leafleting.

The creator of the nation’s first “Hate Map,” which identifies and locates 917 so-called hate groups in the United States, the SPLC identifies only two hate groups in Utah: American Vanguard, which has at least 11 other chapters throughout the country, and — wait for it — the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Earlier this year, conservative media personality Stephen Crowder produced an undercover video showing members of Antifa plotting violence against innocent civilians and distributing weaponry in anticipation of a speech to be given by Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro.

Astonishingly, Antifa does not appear anywhere on SPLC’s Hate Map.

The Independent has both used the hashtag #Christmas as well as engaged in meetings and publishing, which presumably means that the SPLC along with Nazis and white supremacists everywhere will be on the lookout for Seig Heils and burning crosses @SUIndependent.

  1. You can only shake your head in disbelief at someone who thinks Breitbart and Crowder are authoritative sources of information. Jason probably takes as gospel all of resident rump’s tweets, too. As rump would say…sad.
