Count my Vote UtahJoin the Lt. Governor’s office in a public information session on Utah’s new primary election process on Thursday, Dec. 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Iron County Courthouse, located at 68 South 100 East in Parowan. This information session is in regards to S.B. 54, also known as the Count My Vote initiative.

Meant to increase civic engagement and voter participation, the Count My Vote initiative replaces Utah’s caucus selection process for candidates for public office with a mandatory primary election. It was signed into law in March 2014 by Gov. Gary Herbert. The law is being challenged by conservatives who wish to retain the previous caucus system.
