Donald Trump Purple Heart insane political cartoonFrom Clay Jones on his political cartoon “A Trumpoleon Complex,” how Donald Trump accepted a Purple Heart, and whether or not he’s literally insane

In the past criticism has been flung, half-heartedly, that the candidate was trying to lose the election. Today, a lot of people are wondering if Donald Trump is actually trying to lose the election.

Donald Trump is running against Hillary Clinton and the record of Barack Obama. You would think he’d focus on them and not get into schoolyard-disputes with the parents of war dead, fire marshals, fellow Republicans, babies at his rallies, etc.

Conspiracy theorists believe Trump is in cahoots, and has been all along, with the Clintons to get Hillary elected president. Why, they played golf together and attended Donald’s third wedding. He must be a secret Democrat who designed his entire campaign to defeat 17 other Republicans only to act insane in the general election. Why, Trump doesn’t even want the job.

Trump wants the job. He doesn’t want to actually do the job, but he wants it. Trump is a pathological narcissist. He has an excessive need for admiration, a lack of empathy for others, and an exaggerated feeling of self-importance. The man can’t handle criticism, especially if you question his wealth. Being rejected by the majority of voters will destroy his ego. He’s already stated the system is rigged if he doesn’t win in a massive landslide.

Trump has not exhibited any knowledge to the details of the job he’s seeking. He hasn’t displayed any talent for it. He hasn’t even provided specifics to his proposals (build a wall. Make Mexico pay for it. Replace Obamacare with something better). His rallies are usually just hour-long rants, mostly about his press coverage. He’s changed his position on basically every issue, usually after the issue has been explained to him after he expressed his first position (punish women who get abortions. Russia is not in the Ukraine). He’s attacked the press, Mexicans, Muslims, the handicapped, women, veterans, and even toddlers. Which brings us to the big question: Is Donald Trump insane?

There’s talk his own campaign is frustrated with the man, who blew an opportunity to attack Clinton over her horrid FBI explanation. The Republican party is holding discussions behind closed doors about how to replace him if the opportunity comes up. His running mate is distancing himself from the man. Several fellow Republicans aren’t just stating how they won’t vote for him but how they’ll campaign and raise money for Hillary Clinton.

Other than fighting veterans, fire marshals, and babies this week, he accepted a Purple Heart recipient’s medal and stated how he always wanted one and acquiring one this way was a lot easier. If the man is not insane, he’s a huge boorish jerk.

My father has a Purple Heart. He came home from Vietnam with shrapnel in his body he carried with him for the rest of his life to his deathbed. He earned his Purple Heart. It wasn’t handed to him because he was admired. Donald Trump should have refused that medal and encouraged the recipient to give it to a son, daughter, or grandchild. Trump didn’t think of that because he only thinks of himself. Again, he’s a narcissist who is incapable of thinking of others.

It’s also been reported that Trump was asking during security briefings if he can use nukes. That baby better watch out. He may have even leaked information from his very first security briefing (which both major party candidates receive).

I questioned George W. Bush’s intelligence. But Bush had empathy and concern for others. He wasn’t a boorish brute. He didn’t attack his critics. I questioned the judgement and wisdom of Reagan, McCain, and Romney. I never questioned their sanity.

Donald Trump is nuts. He needs professional medical help. Right now, his problem should only be his problem and not one of the rest of us to live through.

We’re no longer discussing conservative vs. liberal policies or who has a better vision for America. We’re debating whether or not Hillary Clinton can be trusted and if Donald Trump can walk and chew gum at the same time.
