The Bureau of Land Management Arizona Strip District is seeking individuals interested in working as on-call, emergency wildland firefighters for the 2016 fire season.
Emergency wildland firefighters work on an occasional basis to assist with local and national needs including logistics, prescribed burns, and wildland fires. The job is well-suited for those who enjoy long hours of hiking backcountry terrain and conducting strenuous physical labor for several days. Prior wildland fire experience is not required for all positions, and training may be provided. Applicants must meet Department of the Interior medical requirements and are subject to a background check and drug testing.
Interested applicants may pick up an application packet at the BLM Arizona Strip District Office from Jan. 25 to February 12 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The district office is located at 345 East Riverside Drive in St. George. Applications must be received no later than Feb. 12. A valid driver’s license must be presented at the time of application.
