Fourth of July Star Search Talent Show: Will you be a St. George Star?
Calling all star-struck performers to try out your act
By Della Lowe
The City of St. George always pulls out all the stops for the Fourth of July, and this year is no exception. There’s a parade, carnival rides that will continue through July 8, games and activities galore, and a 4K Uncle Sam Race. But if citizens want to show off their talents, there is the Fourth of July Star Search Talent Show, which will be held July 4 at 10 a.m. at the Town Square Stage.
There are no age restrictions. Acts cannot exceed 3.5 minutes.
Judging will be done in three categories: 9 and under, 10–17, and 18 or older. The talent show is open to anyone who wants to compete with any sort of family-friendly act, including singing, dancing, juggling, magic, playing an instrument, dramatic recitation, or fire-breathing. Well, maybe not that last one.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall talent winners and the top winner in each category. Judging will be done by a panel of community leaders. This is a free event, but contestants should register online. An entry form may also be picked up at St. George Leisure Services, located at 220 N 200 E, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The entry deadline is July 2 at 5 p.m.
