Harvest Festival and Turkey Trot Race Festivities benefit Switchpoint Community Resource CenterOn Nov. 18 and 19, St. George Races and the St. George Recreation Department will host the annual Harvest Festival and Turkey Trot 5k Fun Run/Walk at the historic Seegmiller Farm. The festivities will include a canned food drive for the benefit of the Switchpoint Community Resource Center. Members of the Seegmiller family and Mayor Jon Pike will be in attendance on Nov. 18 for the ribbon cutting, which formally opens the restored farm.

Friday festivities start at noon with weaving demos, pie-eating contests, and more fun activities based on the daily lives of pioneers. There will also be a barbeque dinner starting at 6 p.m. for $8 for adults and $5 for children followed by a barn dance.

The 5K Turkey Trot race and canned food drive will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the race is $5 and three cans of food per person.

“The whole family can enjoy the day with a one-mile walk or 5K run and collect much needed food for Switchpoint,” said Aaron Metler, St. George Race coordinator. “It is a weekend of family fun while supporting a great cause.”

There will be drawings for prizes including gift cards. Attendees may register for the race online at sgcity.org/races or at 8 a.m. at the event.
