Heritage Writers Guild brings local author of book about Quiver, the miraculous cat

Quiver's Second ChanceThe Independent

Two local authors and illustrators will be speaking tonight at the St. George Library for this month’s Heritage Writers Guild meeting. Ester West, self-published author and illustrator of “The Temple in the Desert,” and  Valerie Anderson, who wrote about the cat here in St George that was shot with an arrow in St. George last year – and survived, will be the featured speakers.

Both authors will be discussing the process each used in researching and writing. Both West and Anderson wrote and illustrated their books.

Valerie Anderson’s book, “Quivers Second Chance,” follows the story of a cat named “Quiver” who was shot with an arrow in and made a miraculous recovery. Anderson adopted the cat and is now sharing her story with the world in hopes to spread awareness about animal cruelty.

Ester West’s book is an illustrated story about a young pioneer boy who works alongside his father helping to build the St. George temple during the 1800’s.

Heritage Writers Guild is the southern chapter of the League of Utah Writers and is open to writers and authors of all genres and skill levels. This meeting is free and open to the public.
