Kayenta hosts ninth annual Street Painting Festival
By Merrie Campbell-Lee
The Kayenta Arts Foundation will host its ninth annual Street Painting Festival at Kayenta Art Village in Ivins April 27 and 28.
You have to see it to believe it. The incredible art local students and professional artists create using simple chalk on pavement will leave you in awe. So much talent is living among us. It’s also the reason why every year since 2012 the crowds have grown. Shop at art galleries, dine at Xetava restaurant, or sample fabulous food and libations from outdoor food vendors. We invite you and your family for a day (or two) of fun at Kayenta Art Foundation’s 2019 Street Painting Festival. On the morning of April 27, see student art from sketch to completion and adult art in progress. That afternoon until the evening of April 28, you will see adult artists complete their masterpieces.
Are you a would-be chalk artist, food vendor, or sponsor? Would your school be interested in forming a chalk art team? We’d love to have you! Call Judith Kapuscinski for information on how to participate at (401) 952-5462.
