Learning Center for Families serves as site for Utah Food Bank Pantry

The Learning Center for Families announced a new partnership with the Utah Food Bank in which the center will serve as a designated monthly food pantry for families currently served by the center. The first food pantry distribution is scheduled for Aug. 6 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the center’s main offices at 2044 S. Mesa Palms Dr. in St. George. The center’s food pantry will be hosted on the first Monday of every month from 9 to 10 a.m. and will rotate once a quarter to a different site at 708 N 195 W in LaVerkin to provide wider access.

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with the Utah Food Bank and serve as a food pantry site for the families we work with,” said Suzanne Leonelli, CEO of The Learning Center for Families. “Many of the families we serve in some of our programs have financial struggles, so giving them and their young children better access to nutritious food really goes hand in hand with our mission to promote the success of children.”

Families have been invited to bring their own bag and will receive 10–12 food items on a first-come, first-served basis and will only need to verify that they are current clients of the Learning Center for Families. The center anticipates serving up to 150 families at this first distribution.
