For over a decade, Jorgensen has influenced the Southern Utah music scene with his music and his ability to present entertainment through his music that people have clamored for. His latest project has been a dream for several years. David Jorgensen Music is bringing a concert series which will feature great touring acts that are at the cusp of making a major splash from around the country.

The David Jorgensen Music series will premier at the beautifully remodeled Electric Theater on Saturday, April 16, and will feature San Diego’s award-winning duo, “The Lovebirds.”

“I first saw The Lovebirds perform at a booking conference in Eugene, Oregon, and they quite literally stole the evening’s showcase performances,” exclaimed Jorgensen. “I haven’t seen an act of their class, quality, and originality in years. Their harmonies and stage presence were so captivating, and their songs … well, let me just tell you, they were the winners of the Kerrville new song contest in 2014. Kerrville is probably the most prestigious folk festival in the country with the stiffest competition, and The Lovebirds won it!”

The Lovebirds St. George Electric TheaterThe Lovebirds are a folk/pop duo featuring award-winning San Diego singer-songwriters Lindsay White and Veronica May. Their sound falls somewhere on the female-duo scale between The Indigo Girls and Tegan and Sara, but this duo stands solidly on their own musical talent and ability.

The Lovebirds were recently selected as official showcase performers for 2015 Folk Alliance International in Kansas City, Mo. They were the winners of the 2014 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk songwriting contest in Kerrville, Texas. The dynamic duo was also the 2014 Official Showcase Selection performers for SWRFA in Austin and have been San Diego Music Award Nominees for Best Local Recording three years on a row in their home city.

The Lovebirds St. George Electric TheaterAwards and accolades are common for The Lovebirds, but it is through the songs in their throats and guitars in their hands that they make love through their music. Their brand of music presents folk that pops. With soul-stirring true-to-life lyrics and magically-gifted instrumental talent, their music connects and penetrates at the onset. Whether singing beautifully smooth, harmonious pieces together or breaking out into solo portions and drifting back again, their music is effortlessly interwoven, creating moving music that is not only heard — it is felt.

The Lovebirds St. George Electric TheaterVeronica May and Lindsay White both have solo albums to their credit prior to becoming The Lovebirds. Veronica released “Remnants of Marley” in 2008, and Lindsay White released “Tracks” in 2010. It was in 2010 when The Lovebirds had its genesis. Two years later, their first album, “Nutsy Pants,” was completed. In 2013, “and a one, and a two” was released followed by “Breakup Shmakeup” in 2014. All of these albums can be streamed on their website. Be warned: Should you visit and start listening, it is highly likely you will become captivated with a need to listen to just one more … and one more … and just one more.

“I am so thrilled to bring The Lovebirds to St. George before they become too big to afford, because they are certainly on their way up,” states Jorgensen.

The Lovebirds St. George Electric TheaterDavid Jorgensen will perform as the opening act for The Lovebirds. Two world-class, high-caliber performances will be part of the concert. The Electric Theater will light up literally and figuratively, bringing new life serving both the original purpose and infusing the reason for remodeling the historic community theater.
