If you missed out on the St. George 2014 Gingerbread Tour last night, you really missed a fun downtown event. In fact, I will go so far as to say, it was the funnest event I have attended downtown to date – bar none. St. George City in partnership with Art on Main and downtown businesses created a Gingerbread Tour meant to get people downtown for some festive family fun.

They provided a punch card with all the participating businesses that had a little map on it so that you could hop scotch your way downtown to view all the architecturally designed gingerbread houses. While you made your way through the shops and businesses, people were outside with hot chocolate, wassail, cookies, cupcakes, candy canes, marshmallows to roast, and more. Fires were glowing all the way down the closed off Main Street for people to warm up by – but even without them, it was a warm and festive night.

Mr. and Mrs Claus made an appearance as did Waffle Love and the Mayor. I hope that the City of St. George makes this an annual affair – it is definitely something I would make a yearly tradition, and so should you. Thank you to all who participated, donated, created, and volunteered to make the 2014 Gingerbread Tour the perfect holiday event.
