WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW…WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 3 A.M. SUNDAY TO 5 A.M. MST MONDAY.

* AFFECTED AREA…WASATCH…WESTERN UINTAS…WASATCH
PLATEAU…BOOK CLIFFS…AND THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN UTAH
MOUNTAINS.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…6-12 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS IN
AREAS FAVORED BY NORTHWEST FLOW IN THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN
WASATCH MOUNTAINS.

* TIMING…SNOW SHOWERS WILL BEGIN AROUND MIDNIGHT ACROSS THE
SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS AND SPREAD NORTHEAST ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF
THE UTAH MOUNTAINS OVERNIGHT. SNOW WILL BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD
SUNDAY MORNING THEN INTENSIFY SUNDAY AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY
EVENING WITH THE PASSAGE OF THE COLD FRONT.

* SNOW LEVELS…WILL BEGIN BETWEEN 8000 AND 9000 FEET TONIGHT THEN
LOWER TO ABOUT 7500 FT BY NOON SUNDAY BEFORE DROPPING RAPIDLY TO
UNDER 6500 FEET SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* WINDS…SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 25-35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO
55 MPH AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. WINDS WILL SWITCH TO NORTHWEST AT
15-25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS
NORTHERN UTAH AND SUNDAY EVENING ACROSS SOUTHERN UTAH.

* IMPACTS…TRAVEL WILL BE IMPACTED AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 8000 FEET
THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. TRAVEL WILL BECOME IMPACTED ACROSS ALL
MOUNTAIN ROUTES SUNDAY AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY EVENING AS SNOW
INTENSITY INCREASES AND SNOW LEVELS LOWER. VISIBILITY MAY BE
REDUCED IN AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW SUNDAY AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY
EVENING.
