Saw Zion and Deep Creek Coffee Company offer adventure and javaSouthwest Utah is a land known for seemingly endless outdoor adventures such as hiking, rock climbing, and canyoneering. Saw Zion, a guiding company based out of Springdale, is one of the newest outfitters offering the opportunity to get out and explore the beauty and wonder of Zion and the surrounding area.

Scott Williams, owner and head guide for Saw Zion, has 18 years of experience as an outdoor guide, providing the knowledge and experience to safely navigate the wild terrain of Zion.

“We’ve been in business for almost three years. We’re kind of small tour company,” Williams said. “I’ve been focusing on providing fly fishing, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, and canyoneering. We offer any diverse experience that is available in the Zion area. I don’t focus on one direct skill. I’m pretty diverse in my passions outside.”

Saw Zion is permitted to guide most of the hikes in the main Zion valley.

“We have a permit to guide in the front country. We do all the popular hikes. We can guide in the Narrows up to Orderville,” Williams said. Saw Zion offers both standard packaged adventures but offers customers the option of customizing their own trips based on ability and preference.

In addition to Saw Zion, Williams is also the owner of Deep Creek Coffee Company, located in the same building.

“The idea was to have an all-inclusive location, a coffee shop and guide shop all in one,” Williams said. Customers can get coffee and food in the morning before heading out on an adventure. The coffee shop features fresh, healthy food and espresso beverages in addition to fresh juices and smoothies, house-brewed chai, and scones, muffins, and other pastries made from scratch.

Saw Zion and Deep Creek Coffee Co. are located at 932 Zion Park in Springdale and can be reached by phone at (435) 669-4335.
