1Flash

About this pet: Flash is a great dog and very easy to live with. However, if you need a dog to cuddle with and to sit on your lap, don’t get Flash. He is unable to do that, and you both will be stressed. If you want a dog that will be happy to go anywhere with you, ride in the car with you, go for walks and hikes, and sleep on the floor on his bed next to you, then think about adopting Flash. He would do best in a home with one or two women and other friendly and outgoing dogs. Flash takes strength from other dogs and learns to deal with touching and petting by watching them and then joining in with them. He’s also a dog who comes with a horrible background that involved hoarding and neglect, and all indicators point to some abuse. What he is most afraid of are men and boys. The second thing he’s afraid of is human touch, although once he trusts you he’s very good about being touched and, as noted above, uses other dogs to let him know when something is safe. He will not enjoy company. If you have children, consider crating him in another room that is off-limits to the children. He is loving and devoted. Arrange to try him for two weeks in your home. Flash cannot be pushed and needs to be allowed to trust at this own speed. That will probably vary on his surroundings. Flash has been with PAWS for almost two years and is currently in a foster home.
