Historic St. George Live

Bring the entire family to watch historical figures like Orson Pratt, Brigham Young, and Jacob Hamblin come alive. Tickets are $3 per person. Children 11 and under enter free. Jean Pyper and Silverwood at The Elk’s Lodge

Southern Utah Weekend Events features Jean Pyper and SilverwoodHead to the Elk’s Lodge this Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. to hear the acoustic music of Jean Pyper and Silverwood. Brigham’s Playhouse presents “Charly: A Love Song”

Southern Utah Weekend Events Guide features "Charly"Jack Weyland’s famous book, “Charly,” comes to life at Brigham’s Playhouse in a musical adaption written by Heather Young and Lex De Azevedo. This romantic comedy will be showing at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Saturday, until July 2. Ticket prices vary and children under 5 are not permitted.

Dixie State University and Summer Comedy Theatre present “The Lieutenant of Inishmore”

This play has an R rating for graphic violence, language, blood, and a cat. “The Lieutenant of Inishmore” plays every Thursday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Eccles Fine Arts Center at Dixie State University. Tuacahn presents “Tarzan”

Southern Utah Weekend Events Guide features "Tarzan" at TuacahnTuacahn Amphitheater brings an unforgettable experience to the stage in Disney’s timeless adventure, “Tarzan.” This musical play will show Thursday through Saturday at 8:30 p.m. until October 12. This is the perfect family adventure for kids and adults.  Ticket prices vary and can be purchased at The Tuacahn Center for the Performing Arts. 

Stillhouse Road at Harmon’s in Santa Clara

southern utah weekend events: Stillhouse RoadJoin Stillhouse Road at Harmon’s in Santa Clara this Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Stillhouse Road plays fantastic bluegrass and will be in the upstairs cafe mezzanine lounge. Stillhouse Road will also be playing at The Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square from 9:30 a.m to noon. Stop by for some local shopping and great music.

Brigham’s Playhouse Presents “First Freedom”

Southern Utah Weekend Events Guide features "First Freedom" the musicalAward-winning playwright Rob Lauer and Emmy Award-winning Utah composer Sam Cardon bring a powerful new musical, “First Freedom,” to the stage at Brigham’s Playhouse every Friday at 7 p.m. and every Saturday at 2 p.m. until July 2. This combination of humor, suspense, and gripping music tells the story of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison’s fight for humankind’s most fundamental right: freedom of religion. Tickets vary in price and can be purchased online at Brigham’s Playhouse. 

Dixie State University and Summer Comedy Theatre present Five Women Wearing The Same Dress

southern utah weekend events: theatreDixie State University’s Summer Comedy Theatre presents “Five Women Wearing The Same Dress,” a play that follows five bridesmaids through an evening of bonding as they hide from a wedding that they do not want to be part of and a bride that they don’t even like. This play is rated R for adult themes and language. “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” plays every Friday and Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Eccles Fine Arts Center at Dixie State University. Steven Swift at George’s Corner

Sunset on the Square Summer Movie Series: “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”

Classic movies for adults and children will be shown on the big screen under the stars. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and goodies! This Friday brings you “Honey I Shrunk The Kids” at 8:30 p.m.  

Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square

Southern Utah Weekend Events Guide features the Year-Round Cedar City Farmers MarketOne of the favorite Southern Utah Weeklend Events, The Downtown Farmer’s Market, is open every Saturday at 8 a.m. to noon in Ancestor Square at 2 W. St. George Blvd. and will run through October 29, 2016. The market features live music and an array of vendors. The Downtown Farmer’s Market is a nonprofit project dedicated to promoting the downtown area as well as organic gardening, homemade arts and crafts, and other goods. Admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, and although the event itself is free, donations to help cover expenses are appreciated. Formerly from the popular Southern California band Old Californio, the bandmates have maintained a friendship for over 20 years. The Bit and Spur is pleased to host this band once a year and watch them treat themselves and the crowd to an amazing night of world class music!
