“Zion Canyon: A Storied Land” is an exhibit by photographer Michael Plyler that highlights the beauty of our neighboring Zion National Park. This special exhibit is being presented to celebrate the National Park Service centennial. Regular admission fees apply. This exhibit will be on display daily through Oct. 31. at Frontier Homestead State Park.

“Go Out & Play” is an exhibit of many local and original artists from the southern Utah area. The event features Karen March, Professor McGarren, Jodi Fuller, Dan Whalen, Dan Lewis, Fiona Phillips, Julie Rogers, Larry Winborg, Jeremy Winborg, and Kirk Parkinson. The exhibit aims to inspire a sense of wonder, creativity, and natural curiosity. This free exhibit shows 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until Nov. 11. “Snapshot 1880–2016: Artist’s Work! The Role of Art in Zion National Park”

The Silver Reef Museum and Zion History Association present this collaborative exhibit that features local visual artists Roland Lee and Royden Card. It is a unique art exhibit that explores the role of art in Zion National Park. It will explore the ways in which artists have promoted Zion National Park visually to a worldwide audience, beginning with the World’s Fair in 1903 in St. Louis and ending with the Zion National Park’s plein air event Nov. 7–13. Art Insights: Young Sil Rho

On Thursday at 7 p.m., you can visit the Southern Utah Museum of Art in Cedar City to see Korean artist Young Sil Rho. She will be at SUMA presenting her life as an artist and what has inspired her work through the years. Her work is included in collections at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Gwa Cheon, Korea, and SUMA as well as private collections around the world. “(mis)Fitting In” is a new family-friendly musical presented by Brigham’s Playhouse. As a new kid in school, Ben Perry is finding complications in choosing what he truly wants to do and what will bring him popularity. Come watch this fun cast as they navigate the ins and outs of fitting in. Being the new kid at school is tough enough, but for Ben Perry it is complicated by having to choose what he truly wants or what will make him popular. Come see Ben, Ella, Brittney, and Drew as they navigate the ins and outs of fitting in at Brigham’s Playhouse. Performance times are Thursday–Saturday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. through Oct. 15. Ticket prices are $23 for adults, $21 for seniors, $17 for children 5–17 and students (with valid I.D.) Children under 5 are not permitted.

“The Addams Family” the musical is presented Thursday–Saturdays Oct. 13–31,at 7:30 p.m. by The Stage Door Theater. Southern Utah Weekend Events Guide features the Year-Round Cedar City Farmers Market

One of the favorite Southern Utah Weekend Events, the Downtown Farmer’s Market, is open every Saturday at 8 a.m. to noon in Ancestor Square at 2 W. St. George Blvd. and will run through Oct. 29. The market features live music and an array of vendors. The Downtown Farmer’s Market is a nonprofit project dedicated to promoting the downtown area as well as organic gardening, homemade arts and crafts, and other goods. Hike for PAWS

The seventh annual Hike for PAWS will explore Cottonwood Hills Trail in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve with beautiful views along an easy hike. The hike will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. There will be a drawing for prizes donated by local businesses. Four-legged furry family members are encouraged to join. PAWS does request that all animal companions be on a leash at all times. PAWS requests a $10 donation for hikers 18 and older and $5 for hikers younger than 18. Cash or checks will be accepted.
