Santa Clara Swiss Days
Santa Clara Swiss Days starts Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and will continue through Saturday. Swiss days includes a 5-kilometer run/walk, a pancake breakfast, and the Swiss Days Parade which begins at 9:30 a.m. at the LDS Chapel on Santa Clara Drive and continues to Town Hall, showcasing everything from Harley Davidson motorcycle groups to homemade floats. The festival will also include a Red Rock Car Show at Canyon View Park, continuous entertainment, dog agility demonstrations, heritage displays, pioneer craft demonstrations, family history lectures, children’s activities, and more. Michael Plyler special exhibit
“Zion Canyon: A Storied Land” is an exhibit by photographer Michael Plyler that highlights the beauty of our neighboring Zion National Park. This special exhibit is being presented to celebrate the National Park Service centennial. Regular admission fees apply. This exhibit will be on display daily through Oct. 31. at Frontier Homestead State Park.
“Go Out & Play” exhibit
“Go Out & Play” is an exhibit of many local and original artists from the southern Utah area. The event features Karen March, Professor McGarren, Jodi Fuller, Dan Whalen, Dan Lewis, Fiona Phillips, Julie Rogers, Larry Winborg, Jeremy Winborg, and Kirk Parkinson. The exhibit aims to inspire a sense of wonder, creativity, and natural curiosity. This free exhibit shows 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until Nov. 11. The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Murder For Two”
Everyone is a suspect in this hilarious musical murder-mystery with a twist. In “Murder for Two,” one actor investigates the crime. The other plays all the suspects. And they both play the piano! Don’t miss the fun at this play in Cedar City at the Eileen and Allen Anes Studio Theatre Thursday and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. This show will run through Oct. 22. Art Insights: “Finding Your Edge with Trey Hill”
Trey Hill is a professional sculptor and associate professor at The University of Montana where he teaches in both the ceramics and sculpture departments. His artistic goal is to seduce the senses while exploring the fragile boundaries that weave human sexuality, strength, power, emotion, and vulnerability into one cohesive identity. Students and community members can meet to experience presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights. The event is being held at the Southern Utah Museum of Art in Cedar City on Thursday at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the general public is invited to attend. Mike and Elaine Moulton at Ancestor Square Fall Concert Series

“Oleanna” by David Mamet
Kayenta Arts Foundation is pleased to present “Oleanna,” David Mamet’s examination of political correctness, academic politics, and sexual harassment. This event will be presented in the intimate setting of Kayenta’s Room for Thought located in the Kayenta Art Village. Tuacahn presents “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
Come see the Tuacahn amphitheater transformed into 15th century Paris, and follow Quasimodo on his adventure. Parental discretion is advised as “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” involves mature themes. This musical will show Thursday at 8 p.m. Check out Tuacahn.org for showtimes and ticket purchases.
Tuacahn presents “Tarzan”
Tuacahn Amphitheater brings an unforgettable experience to the stage in Disney’s timeless adventure, “Tarzan.” This musical will show Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. through Oct. 12. This is the perfect family adventure for kids and adults. Ticket prices vary from $29 to $79 and can be purchased at the Tuacahn website.
Southern Utah Watercolor Society all-media art show
This is a two-day exhibit of Southern Utah Watercolor Society members’ art work that starts Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Silver Reef Museum. All artwork will be for sale! Any artists that are interested in participating can contact Carole Foster at imageryfarm@gmail.com.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Julius Caesar”

Eighth Annual Zion Canyon Music Festival
The 8th annual Zion Canyon Music Festival is a two-day festival full of music, entertainment, and family fun. The festival starts at 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. There will be two performance stages, a beer and wine garden, food vendors, a kid zone, education/art vendors, and a fantastic lineup of musical talent. Volunteers are needed for the festival! Fall Series Race: Suzuki contingency for entire series
Practice begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Mesquite Motocross Park for this two Moto format. The race will follow. This is the first of a four-part series of races. There is a gate fee of $10. Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square
One of the favorite Southern Utah Weekend Events, the Downtown Farmer’s Market, is open every Saturday at 8 a.m. to noon in Ancestor Square at 2 W. St. George Blvd. and will run through Oct. 29. The market features live music and an array of vendors. The Downtown Farmer’s Market is a nonprofit project dedicated to promoting the downtown area as well as organic gardening, homemade arts and crafts, and other goods. The market accepts the Horizon Card and participates in “Double Up Bucks” offered through a grant from Utahns Against Hunger. Come to the market and shop for farm-fresh produce with your Horizon Card and Double Up Bucks will match what you spend up to $10 each Saturday.
Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Cedar City
Visit the only Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Utah, a real farmers market that sells only locally produced and grown fruit, vegetables, jam, bread, and other farm products. Zion Canyon Farmers Market
The Zion Canyon Farmers Market is located on the lawn of the Bit and Spur Restaurant at 1212 Zion Park Blvd. in Springdale. The market is open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays through Oct. 15.
