Summer at Brian Head packed with events and outdoor activitiesThe Independent

With a wide variety of activities planned, Brian Head Resort will be the place to be during the 2015 summer season. To start it off, spend Independence Day weekend where the weather is cool and enjoy your freedom in style. Not only is Brian Head’s Fourth of July extravaganza free to the public, it’s anticipated to be the best fireworks display in southern Utah. In addition to the fireworks, with live music and a craft fair showcasing artisan vendors, it’s not to be missed!

Brian Head Resort is initiating two new traditions in 2015. On July 18, barbecue enthusiasts will compete while spectators enjoy the fruits of their efforts during the inaugural BBQ, Blues, and Brews events. As you might guess by the name, this event will include live music as well. The following weekend will witness another first for Brian Head with a car show, featuring food, beer, and you guessed it, cars. Live music will be provided by Count’s 77, featuring Danny Coker from the History Channel’s “Counting Cars.”

Also on July 25 is the Brian Head bike race, part of the Intermountain Cup’s EXC series.

On July 31 and Aug. 1, representatives of Utah’s finest breweries, distilleries, and wineries will convene for the 2015 Festival of Flavors, where aficionados come annually for the food and drink…and stay for the scenery.

For those who love to race but hate to pedal, there’s the Flyin’ Brian Downhill bike race Aug. 15 and the Dark Hollow race Aug. 16, part of the 2015 Go-Ride Gravity Mountain Bike Series. But the action doesn’t end there. On Aug. 29, you won’t wan to miss Grub, Sweat, and Beers 5K Extreme, an obstacle course race followed by food, drink, and live music which will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Going out with a bang, Brian Head celebrates its German heritage and closes its summer season with bratwurst, beer, and live music during Rocktoberfest, starting at 10 a.m. on Sept. 19 and ending at 11 p.m. the following night. Welcome autumn the German way at Brian Head Resort!
