SUU Jazz Band Roger IngramThe SUU Jazz Band will host trumpeter Roger Ingram at the Heritage Center Theatre April 13 at 7:30 p.m., performing tunes such as “Things Ain’t What They Used To Be,” “Blue Serge,” “How Do You Keep The Music Playing,” and “Blues In the Closet.”

Ingram is among the most prolific lead trumpeters today. His professional career started at age 16 with Louie Bellson, Quincy Jones, and Tom Jones and continued with Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Wynton Marsalis, Ray Charles, Paul Anka, and Harry Connick Jr. In 2008, he authored “Clinical Notes on Trumpet Playing.” He is a KHS/Jupiter artist/clinician, and in 2009 he designed the XO1600I Trumpet. His schedule includes writing, presenting clinics, making guest-soloist appearances, teaching, performing, and recording.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for alumni with card, and $5 for youth. SUU faculty, staff, and students enter free with a valid ID card. More information on the SUU College of Performing and Visual Arts is available at suu.edu/pva.
