SUU presents John Michael Montgomery in concert

Southern Utah University is pleased to announce country musician John Michael Montgomery in concert Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at SUU’s America First Event Center.
“We are excited to bring John Michael Montgomery to SUU and Cedar City for the first time,” said Mindy Benson, vice president for alumni and community relations. “His music is loved by many, and I am confident concertgoers in southern Utah will enjoy his show.”
John Michael Montgomery has turned an uncanny ability to relate to fans into one of country music’s most storied careers. Behind the string of hit records, the roomful of awards and the critical and fan accolades that have defined his phenomenal success lies a connection that goes beyond his undeniable talent and his proven knack for picking hits. Since the days when “Life’s A Dance” turned him from an unknown musician into a national star, Montgomery’s rich baritone has carried that most important of assets: believability. Few musicians in any genre sing with more heart than this Kentucky-born musician.
His achievements include 16 million sold albums, 15 No. 1 singles, four ACM Awards, three CMA Awards, one American Music Awards, American Songwriter Magazine Artist of the Year, two Grammy Nominations, and Single, Top Country Artist, and Top Male Artist Billboards Awards.
