Suzuki Strings Cedar City offers family orientation
By Sara Penny
Families interested in Suzuki Strings Cedar City are invited to a family orientation Aug. 29 at 5 p.m. in Room 206 at the Southern Utah University music building.
The program is designed to provide students with performance opportunities from beginner through advanced on violin, viola, and cello for ages three and up including orchestra training. The group sponsors a regional workshop and fall concert as well as performances at Frontier Homestead State Park. Individual and family groups provide music for many church and community events and have participated with the Piano Guys at two SUU concerts and with visiting groups from Salt Lake City. Many of the students also participate in their public school orchestras.
We are excited to have teachers available in all of the instruments this year. Amy Gold, Heather Wilhelm, and Samantha Herring took teacher training at the Intermountain Institute and have openings for students. We are thrilled to have good teachers with openings, because some years everyone is fully booked. Students arrange their private lessons with individual teachers and then participate in weekly group classes to develop their skills and a musical support group.
For more information, please call Amy Gold at (808) 265-0228 or check out photos and videos online.
