Providing Animals With Support (PAWS)
PAWS Adoption Center is located at 1125 W 1130 N in St. George. Please submit an application at dixiepaws.org. Call (435) 688-9748 or email email@example.com. All pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccinations. Below are the pets currently available for adoption from the shelter.
Roo is an 8-month-old heeler mix puppy. She was adopted, but her owners no longer have the time needed for her. Roo will need some training. She gets along with other dogs and has a lot of energy. She needs an active family to tire her out so she will be easier to train. Roo will make a great family dog. Come in and meet this cute girl. Her adoption fee is $125.
Maggie is a 9-year-old terrier mix. She is a very sweet and mellow dog. She loves being a lap dog. Maggie has an allergy that is being treated with medication and diet. Because of this condition, she has had some hair loss. Maggie is currently in a foster home. Her adoption fee is $75.
Jackson is a 1 1/2-year-old Lab mix. He is black with white on his chest and feet. He has lots of energy and loves people and kids. Jackson is a great dog and will make a wonderful family pet. He likes hiking and water, but he needs to be taught how to play ball. Get into PAWS and meet this wonderful boy. Don’t wait too long. Labs don’t stay long in shelters. His adoption fee is $125.
Nancy is a 9-month-old calico. She was abandoned when her owners moved out of their rental. The landlord rescued her, and that is how she came to PAWS in April. Nancy is very playful and loves receiving attention. She enjoys the company of other cats, too. She is very beautiful and will make a great addition to any family. Her adoption fee is $75.
Feona is a 6-year-old female tabby. She is such a sweet cat and gets along with the other cats at PAWS. Feona had her tail amputated due to an injury. She is so ready to find her forever home. She came to PAWS from a high-kill shelter. Feona will make a great companion for someone. Come in and meet this sweet cat. Her adoption fee is $65.
Walter is a 7-year-old DSH white-and-gray male. He is such a nice cat who enjoys receiving attention. Walter came to PAWS in February from another shelter and is declawed. You need to meet him to appreciate all he has to offer. He is low energy and would make a great companion. His adoption fee is $65.
The City of Mesquite Animal Shelter
The City of Mesquite Animal Shelter is located at 795 Hardy Way and is open for adoptions Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. Please call (702) 346-7415 during these hours to speak to the front desk, or visit mesquiteanimalshelter.petfinder.com. Animal Control may be reached by phone or voicemail at (702) 346-5268. Adoption fees include spaying or neutering and a one-year rabies shot. Mesquite residents only receive one-year city pet licenses.
Hansel and Gretel
Hansel and Gretel’s owner could no longer keep them. They are both 11 years old. They are used to being together. They love to go for walks and follow you around. They love attention.
Rosa’s owner could no longer keep her. She is less than a year old. Rosa is very friendly and loves people. She will come when called. Rosa’s owner had her trained to a harness so she could be on the patio when she was outside. She has beautiful coloration and unusual facial markings with striking blue eyes. Rosa’s adoption fee is $40.
Joey’s owner could no longer keep him. He is less than a year old. Joey is very friendly and loves people. Joey will come when called. Joey’s owner had him trained to a harness so he could be on the patio when she was outside. Joey has a shiny black coat, a white spot on his front leg, and huge golden eyes. He is quite stunning. Joey’s adoption fee is $40.
Because Animals Matter
Because Animals Matter is dedicated to reducing animal abuse and neglect through education. It offers fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped animals for adoption through a network of foster homes and the Because Animals Matter Center, a transition facility. It also welcomes volunteers for a variety of activities and needs foster families for animals awaiting their forever homes. Hunk is a gorgeous 2-year-old dog believed to be a pointer/pittie blend weighing in at about 60 lbs. BAM is taking applications on him because he’s receiving some medical treatment for the next month or so for Heartworm. Following his treatment, he will be well and ready to go to his new family. He’s a favorite of everyone who meets him and good with other dogs. He is a bit rambunctious and may not be good for toddlers but should do fine with older children. Lizzie is a cutie. She likes to play but also knows how to relax and soak up the sun. She is in a foster home with other dogs with whom she shares a loving relationship. She came to BAM from a shelter at 3 months old and had a bad case of mange, but it has been treated. However, mange can recur in dogs, so her new family will have to keep an eye on her. Roger is a wonderfully sweet and happy dog. He was picked up as a stray and is estimated to be between 2 and 4 years of age. He is quite excited when he first meets you but settles after a short time and is a good walker. He is learning his manners and already sits nicely for a treat; he will learn quickly as he is food motivated and wants to please. Rosemary is a beautiful cat. She is approximately 7 years old. She is a sweet cat. She is calm, quiet, and very loving and enjoys receiving attention. She does get nervous in new situations but settles in fairly quickly with a little patience and love. She is good with other cats and tolerates nice dogs.
