How far would you go to save your one true love? Opening on Wednesday, May 20, the Southern Utah Center for the Arts presents the southern Utah premiere of “The Three Princes,” the story of Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty—told from the Princes’ point of view. “The Three Princes” opens May 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Art Center and will show nightly through May 30, Sundays excluded. There will also be Saturday matinees at 3 p.m.

Handsome princes, beautiful damsels, fighting warriors, evil stepmothers, fairies, witches, sorcerers, and fire-breathing dragons abound in this fantastic multimedia production.

In the land of Quinn, a young lord is apprenticed to a magician because of the loss of his family’s wealth. As he grows, he becomes a faithful servant to his master and a great wizard himself. The young wizard falls in love with a princess, who is unaware of his love, and he becomes embittered when she marries the king.

Twenty years later, the apprentice has become a dark sorcerer who endeavors to use his powers to ruin the lives of the three sons of the woman he once loved (now the queen) and to keep each of them from his one true love.

The story unfolds as the princes fight to save their loves from black fairies, demonic hordes, and more—with a little help from a sassy fairy godmother.

And of course, everything turns out just right, and they live happily ever after.

Maybe.

Josh Ford stars as the headstrong Prince Eagan, with Tyler Call as swashbuckling Prince Garrett and Alek Jordon as the shy and intelligent Prince Chance. Rebecca Peck and Marlena Cremeens portray Cinderella and Rapunzel; and filmmaker and media newsie Liz Baxter plays the feisty Sleeping Beauty. This production also features film actress Cathy Ford as the abominable stepmother, Britnee Hobson as the black fairy Wednesday, and Takoma Dennett as the sassy fairy godmother.

The Hurricane Art Center is located at 92 W. 100 S. in Hurricane. Adult tickets are on sale for $9, student and senior tickets are $7, and children’s tickets are $6. A family pass can be purchased for $35 for immediate family only. Tickets are $7 when purchased in advance online at http://kobura.wix.com/emersonsmithmedia#!current-production/cb3i.
