Premier extreme athletes need premier training grounds and Brian Head has got it for extreme winter sports athletes with their new Training Grounds Terrain Park. Thanks to a state-of-the-art snowmaking system, the resort was able to make enough snow to build 4 jumps and set up 20 rails, boxes, and other features for opening day. The result was one of the largest early season parks in the country.

The Training Grounds terrain parks at Brian Head Resort are quickly gaining a reputation as the premier destination for skiers and snowboarders looking for a quality terrain park in the early weeks of the season.

“So often, resorts open with one strip of snow and a couple of rails. We wanted to come out of the gate strong and give our riders the complete experience from day one,” said Terrain Park Manager Noah Schwander

Riders have traveled from all over the west to take advantage of the training grounds and $25 early season lift tickets. The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.

“The park crew has been killing it, making for one of the best early season parks we have ever seen. Can’t wait to make it back down!” said Jason Aren, a Lake Tahoe based professional skier.

Aren and his ‘Good Enough Crew’ have visited Brian Head each of the last 2 seasons to hone their skills and shoot for their feature length ski films.

Starting January 10th, the training grounds will host several major events including the Triple Crown Series which includes rail jam, slope style, and big air events. In addition, the parks will host an official United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) event from February 27th to March 1st.

“We’re committed to building terrain parks that maximize fun and help riders progress no matter what part of the season we’re in,” said Schwander. “ We’ll continue to expand as we get more snow, the best is definitely yet to come.”
