Utah Nonprofits Association workshop Jack RolfeOn Thursday, Oct. 1, Jack Rolfe will offer a training workshop, “Nine Critical Steps Necessary to Survive in the Nonprofit World,” to nonprofit organizations in southern Utah from 8 a.m. to noon at Dixie Applied Technology College, 1506 South Silicon Way, building C-2 in St. George. During the recession, 38 percent of Utah nonprofits closed their doors. Nonprofit organizations often fill the voids that the private and government sectors cannot address. Whether a nonprofit is a start-up or has been in existence for several years, Rolfe will explain what areas can benefit and how through a step-by-step process.

To bring this workshop to the public, the Utah Nonprofits Association Southern Utah Committee has partnered with the School of Life, a nonprofit organization dedicated reversing the troublesome trend of high school dropouts by providing key after-school programs and engagement to increase high school graduation rates, functionality, and success.

The vision of his work is leading a “positive disruption” in education. The curriculum is based on his book, “Learn to ‘School’ Your Toughest Opponent.” Jack also wrote “27 Seconds” and is a contributing author of the books “Life Choices: It’s Never Too Late” and “Heart of a Toastmaster.”

Every southern Utah Utah Nonprofits Association educational program includes time for practical discussion, networking, and the sharing of experiences between nonprofit peers. Though programs are focused on nonprofit organizations, workshops and networking events are open to the public.
