The Virgin Valley Theatre Group has announced open auditions for their upcoming production of “All My Sons.” Auditions will run Sept. 24 and 25 from 6-9 p.m. at the Mesquite Community Theatre Green Room (Room 15), 150 N. Yucca St.
Arthur Miller’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama asks a tough question: How far should a man go to secure his family’s well-being? This skillfully written play delves into the lives of two intertwined families post-WWII, dealing with the tragedy of coping with the loss of a loved one and the consequences of ill-fated decisions.
The show will run Jan. 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24 at 7 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Jan. 18. It will be directed by Steve Zaehringer.
Cast of characters:
- Joe Keller – Nearing 60 years old. He is a heavy man who has a solid mind and build.
- Kate Keller – Early 50s. She is a woman who has uncontrollable inspirations and a never-ending love.
- Chris Keller – 32 years old. He is a lot like his father when it comes to being solidly built and a good listener.
- Annie Deever – 26 years old. She is very beautiful and considered one of the best-looking women in the town.
- George Deever – 32 years old. He is very pale and on the edge of his self-restraint. George is a highly respected lawyer who lives in New York.
- Dr. Jim Bayliss – Nearing 40. He is a doctor. He likes to read, is a very self-controlled man, and a very easy talker.
- Sue Bayliss – Nearing 40. She is an overweight woman who feels that she is obese and is very insecure about it.
- Frank Lubey – 32 years old. He is losing his hair. He is very pleasant and enjoys speaking his opinions on several things. He is very uncertain of himself and very peevish when crossed.
- Lydia Lubey – 27 years old. She is a robust, laughing, beautiful girl who is great with cosmetics and hair.
- Bert – 8 years old. He has an exquisite imagination and is very energetic.
