The Cedar City community wants you to show your support to local farmers in the area by making a weekly stop at the Year-Round Farmers Market held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the IFA County Store at 905 S. Main St. in Cedar City. Open rain, snow or shine, the market will be outdoors from May through October and indoors from November until May.

“We are fortunate to have a farmers market in a town this small,” said market founder and manager, Symbria Patterson. “You are supporting individuals you know in your community.”

The Year-Round Cedar City Farmers Market encourages local farmers and backyard growers to grow organically, so the community can enjoy only locally produced and home grown foods.

With a large focus on eating local first and supporting growers in their own community, this market gives you many options for food and other fun items. Different booths feature products such as seasonal produce, artisan raw milk cheese, raw honey, bread, soaps, herbs, plants, hummus, hand-made tamales and other ready-to-eat foods.

“The food is fresher, healthier and tastes better,” Patterson said. “You really can shop for almost everything except t.p. and processed foods.”

Being the first and only year-round farmers market that is held weekly in Utah, the Cedar City Farmers Market is hoping to give anyone interested in supporting the local farmer’s food scene in Cedar City an experience to remember.

“What a beautiful way to spend a Saturday morning,” Patterson said.
