Farmers markets open in Zion Canyon areaTwo Zion Canyon farmers markets begin their 2017 seasons this spring.

The Zion Canyon Farmers Market will take place Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon on the lawn of the Bit and Spur Restaurant, located at 1212 Zion Park Blvd. in Springdale. The season begins May 6 and ends Oct. 14. In recent years, the Zion Canyon Farmers Market has expanded to offer arts and crafts as well as farm-fresh produce. Those interested in selling produce or crafts or performing music can stop by the market table for more information or visit zionharvest.org. Volunteers are welcome.

The Kanab Outdoor Market will take place Saturdays from 4 to 9 p.m. at Comfort Suites, located at 150 W. Center St. in Kanab. The season begins April 29 and ends Oct. 28. The Kanab Outdoor Market will feature the usual farmers market offerings as well as food trucks. Free classes such as yoga or Zumba will be offered at 4 p.m. and live music will be performed from 7 to 9 p.m. There is no fee for vendors to participate, although anyone offering baked goods must have a cottage kitchen license.
