Zion Joy To The WorldThe Town of Springdale, Zion Canyon Visitor’s Bureau, Rotary Club, and the Zion Canyon Arts and Humanities Council (Z-Arts) have combined forces once again to host a winter festival in Zion Canyon with a diverse array of activities running from Thanksgiving weekend through New Year’s.

Kicking off the festival is the 31st annual Z-Arts Crafts Fair on Friday and Saturday Nov. 27 and 28 at the Canyon Community Center in Springdale. This popular fair features handmade arts and crafts by regional artists. On Nov. 28, the first Music at the Mart performance at the Sol Foods downtown supermarket plaza will feature Dulce. Directly after the concert, the Downtown Christmas Tree located at Under the Eaves Bed and Breakfast will be illuminated.

Anyone who would like to support the Z-Arts Crafts Fair can volunteer. Duties for managing the Z-Arts booth during the fair include greeting visitors, selling Z-Arts Gala and opportunity drawing tickets, selling and and promoting Z-Arts memberships, accepting donations, and being aware of upcoming Z-Arts events. Two volunteers per shift are needed, so those interested are encouraged to sign up with a friend.

Also on Dec. 12, Dave and Victoria will be the second Music at the Mart featured performance, followed by Springdale’s sixth annual Holiday Light Parade along downtown’s “Candy Cane Main.” Brightly lit fire trucks, personal vehicles, bicyclists, electric pedestrians, and other wonders will spread cheer to the young and the young at heart. The parade will culminate at the Canyon Community Center where hot drinks and cookies will be served at a “Sweets Social.” In addition to the parade entries, businesses and residences will be competing for Best Holiday Lighting recognition to be announced at the social. The Grand Prize trophy will be given to the winner, who will have the honor of keeping it until next year’s light parade, at which point it will be passed on to the next lucky recipient.

Zion Joy To The WorldThe festival finale will feature a New Year’s Eve fireworks display at Springdale Town Park starting at approximately 7 p.m. This spectacular finale is a precursor for your New Year’s Eve celebration, whether at home with friends or at the Zion Brew Pub’s New Year’s Eve celebration starting at 9 p.m.
