Written by Scott Dunford Since 2011, “Mayhem in Mesquite” has thrilled fans of amateur mixed martial arts (MMA). Mayhem in Mesquite VI will exceed expectations with the same quality and “knock down full contact” fighting that rivals professional MMA events.
CasaBlanca’s Mayhem in Mesquite will host its sixth mixed martial arts competition again Saturday, March 14, to an expected crowd of 1500 fight fans inside their event center. You never know what MMA professional will show up to support their favorite amateur. Last year, world champion Ronda Rousey, mixed martial arts fighter and actress, was at Mayhem in Mesquite IV to support her roommate Marina Shafir, who also turned pro that same year.
Jacob “Stitch” Duran has been a consistent supporter of Mayhem in Mesquite. He is well known as a professional “cut man” who enjoys watching the Tuff-n-Uff series when he is not working with the champions in the pro circuit. For the March 14 event, the lineup will include fighters from Utah, Arizona, California, Idaho and Nevada.
The “Mayhem Weekend” will include several events supporting the main event. The first event starts Friday March 13, in the CasaBlanca Showroom. At 6 p.m. will be the Weigh-ins, admission to observe is free and open the public. Immediately following the weight-ins, at about 7p.m. will be the “Mayhem Ring Girl Competition”, also open to the public with free admission. This will be hosted by none other than Radio KZHK 95.9 The Hawk’s favorite personality Marty Lane, “The Original Hawk Rocker”.
The Ring Girl competition includes ten beautiful ladies for the three top spots. Those three lucky ladies will receive cash, spa treatments, comp rooms and numerous other perks, not to mention admiring eyes from the spectators during the fights. The final event of Friday evening is a free concert! It will start at approximately 9 p.m. for those 21 and older. The concert is “3Align”, an edgy rock band with a metal and classic rock base. “3 Align” just released their new album in time for Mayhem in Mesquite so don’t miss this great opportunity to see them live! The main event “Mayhem in Mesquite VI” will take place in the CasaBlanca Event Center on Saturday March 14. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the first match at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, open for all ages three years and older. Thirty fighters, both men and women, will jump in the cage and battle it out for the win.
If that’s not enough, stick around after the fights for the “Mayhem After Party” in the CasaBlanca Showroom at 10 p.m. Admission is free for 21 yrs and older only. You’ll get to meet some of the fighters, promoters and other fans! The party will be hosted by DJ Johnny Utah, dance floor will be open!
