Even though there was a rock festival called the Retrospect Rockfest at the old St George airport, that didn’t stop nearly 1000 dancing and drinking patrons from attending the first of the summer CasaPoolooza parties at the Casa Blanca Hotel and Casino in Mesquite on Saturday, May 9. It always amazes me that there are so many who enjoy these free poolside events at the Casa Blanca Hotel. People come from as far as Salt Lake and Las Vegas, but it seems that the majority are coming from St George. The bands are always great, and the Jimmy Buffet Tribute band on Saturday was spot-on for providing an experience that creates a beach party atmosphere and the closest thing we’ll come to a Spring Break experience.
You won’t want to miss the next two CasaPoolooza parties scheduled this summer. On June 6, Zowie Bowie will provide a Vegas-type show, complete with his beautiful gals and Vegas sizzle. July 4 follows with a band that needs little introduction called The Spazmatics. Always entertaining and always the perfect complement to those of us who love to dance!
See you poolside again next month. Shows start at 7 p.m. and end around 10-10:30 p.m., so plan on spending the weekend in Mesquite. It’s a great way to insure you won’t miss any of the fun and be safe to party like it’s 1999!
