Frontier Homestead State Park Museum Fall Events

October 10-14th in Cedar City

All Hallows Eve is almost here, meaning you must be ready for ghosts, goblins, and things that go bump in the night. Make Frontier Homestead State Park part of your Halloween story with a series of fun and thrilling events to celebrate the season’s spirit.

Frontier Homestead State Park offers a week of Halloween-themed activities to get you and yours into the Halloween mood. We’ll provide our much-loved free cemetery tours on October 10, 12, and 13. Tours begin at 6 PM each evening and meet in our north parking lot. On Wednesday, October 11, we’ll have an evening of ghost stories and local legends. This free program will be held across the street from the park at 646 N Main Street, Cedar City. Our family-friendly Haunted Homestead Carnival will complete the week on Saturday, October 14, from 4 PM. We will provide carnival-style Halloween-themed games, face painting, and other haunting surprises. Local theater students will provide a spooky walk, making your heart race. Admission is $2 per person or $8.00 per family.

Our self-guided cemetery tour will be set up all month long. Download an information booklet describing notable stopping points or pick one up at the museum. Peruse the local cemetery and learn about some of the more interesting headstones and stories about the graveyard. We recommend completing this tour between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on the day of your choice. Please dress for the weather and bring a flashlight. This event is provided free of charge.

Fall festivities will continue into November, with Iron Mission Days on November 10 and 11. During Iron Mission Days, Frontier Homestead State Park, in partnership with the Cedar City Corporation, celebrates the founding of Cedar City. Enjoy the cool, crisp air, pioneer activities, and living history demonstrations. Featured activities are scheduled to include blacksmith demonstrations, rag doll making, heritage arts vendors, and more. We may even have the local HAM radio club on hand and broadcasting from the park. Admission for Iron Mission Days is just $2 per person or $8 per family.

Our Homestead Fall events will spark your imagination and provide adventure for the whole family, so join us for the fun.
