A Holly Jolly Improv Show At The Electric Theater

A Chef, a Wizard, and Paul Bunion, walk onto… a food truck? Just a taste of what patrons experienced at an evening filled with laughter at So U Comedy’s Halloween-themed improv show this past month. Cast members, along with the audience, donned costumes for the annual tradition of some “spooktacular” comedy.

The So U Comedy Theater features themed improv shows throughout the year. Evenings celebrating The 80s, Pi Day, and the widely popular “May the 4th Be With You” Star Wars Tribute are all part of the fun that So U showcases.  In keeping with tradition, their Holly Jolly Improv Show is returning on December 21st at the Electric Theater.

All the scenes from So U are based on suggestions from (YOU) the audience. Every show is unique in the fact that it is made up on the spot. This never-before and never-to-be-seen-again form of entertainment is exciting, not just for the Players, but especially for the audience.

Greg Belnap, the managing director of So U, notes that throughout his journey with the organization, people have been his favorite part. “I love improv because I love the bonds of friendship I have made with other performers and our audience. Improv brings a wide array of people together, both as performers and patrons. As an interactive art form, all involved get immediate ownership of what they create at any given show.” As an audience favorite and a regular host of the show, Belnap has had his share of memorable moments. He firmly believes that every show is a unique experience that an audience member can’t get anywhere else.  What better way to share the joy this holiday season than sharing in laughter with friends and family?
