Nestled in the heart of downtown Cedar City, I/G Winery stands as a pioneer in Utah’s wine industry. Since opening its doors in 2012, the family-owned and operated winery has played a key role in shaping the state’s modern wine culture. As the first winery in Southern Utah in over 100 years, I/G helped pave the way for future producers by working to establish zoning laws, expand local vineyards, and launch the Utah Wine Trail—an initiative aimed at encouraging wine tourism across the state.
The winery is known for crafting small-batch wines from grapes sourced in Utah as well as from premium vineyards in Washington, Oregon, and California. But it’s not just about wine—visitors can also enjoy a rotating selection of craft cocktails, local beers, fine spirits, and thoughtfully prepared small bites. The food and beverage menu is designed to elevate the tasting experience while appealing to a wide range of guests.

Inside the tasting room, guests are greeted with rustic charm and urban elegance—exposed brick walls, reclaimed wood accents, and a cozy fireplace create an inviting atmosphere. Every weekend, the space comes alive with live music performances from talented local and regional artists, making I/G Winery a vibrant hub for food, wine, and entertainment. Located just steps away from the Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Cedar City arts district, I/G has become a favorite gathering place for locals and tourists alike.

Beyond the tasting room, I/G Winery is also the proud host of the annual Utah Wine Festival—a celebration of local craftsmanship, culinary creativity, and community spirit. Now entering its seventh year, the 2025 Utah Wine Festival will take place August 29–31 in Cedar City and surrounding areas. The festival has grown into one of the state’s premier wine events, known for its intimate atmosphere and exclusive focus on wines made right here in Utah.
Unlike larger commercial festivals, the Utah Wine Festival curates a refined lineup of events designed to connect wine lovers with winemakers, educators, and chefs. The weekend includes everything from guided tastings and vineyard picnics to educational seminars and multi-course wine-paired dinners.

Festival highlights for 2025 include the Popcorn and Wine Pairing, the “You Be the Judge” tasting competition, and the Ciders, Meads & Non-Traditional Wines seminar. Guests can attend master classes led by wine experts like Sheral Schowe, Utah’s only European-trained Master of Wine. Signature dinners such as “Terroir to Table” and “Epicureans on the Edge” showcase Utah’s farm-to-glass connection, culminating with a chef-curated outdoor dinner under the stars.
The Utah Wine Festival is more than a celebration—it’s a reflection of how far the state’s wine industry has come. What began as a bold venture in Cedar City has evolved into a movement that’s capturing the attention of wine lovers across the region. At the center of it all is I/G Winery, continuing its mission to blend heritage with innovation while inviting guests to discover the distinctive character of Utah wines and beyond.
