The ballet has never been this graceful—or this cutthroat. St. George Dance Company’s fourth original dance-based whodunnit, Casecracker: Swan Lake, turns the Historic Electric Theater into a crime scene where the audience becomes the detective.

Act I opens with the fictional “Grand National Ballet” preparing for its production of Swan Lake. When a murder strikes during the final rehearsal, the curtain rises on a mystery that unfolds through choreography and character. Physical clues are handed out at intermission, while subtle, story-driven hints appear onstage; Act II pieces everything together for the big reveal. Written and directed by Andrielle Davidson, this year’s Casecracker is “loosely based” on the classic ballet, keeping the elegance while reimagining the stakes.
St. George Dance Company’s 2025–26 season, Classics Reimagined, also includes performing in Jenny Oaks Baker’s Joy to the World Christmas concert, a spring production of Romeo vs Juliet, a Regency-themed ball, and the annual Red Rock Dance Festival. The nonprofit company is supported by St. George City and Washington County RAP Tax.
“St. George Dance Company is on a mission to keep Southern Utah a wonderful place to live. Art and culture are what are the heart and soul of a community and SGDC’s shows keep our local arts scene thriving,” said Sarah Reynolds, Executive Director of St. George Dance Company.
Casecracker: Swan Lake plays the Historic Electric Theater in downtown St. George October 24–25 and November 6–8 at 7:30 PM. Tickets, group tickets, and season passes are available at stgeorgedance.com.
