When we look back, the year 2026 will be significant in so many ways. Will we become better informed, more engaged to make a positive difference where we can, wiser, more compassionate to each other, to ourselves, other creatures, and to our natural environment? Can we be more cognizant of how our personal and societal choices, our culture and our economy affect our immediate surroundings and the greater natural world that sustains us? Will our communities become more resilient?
The direction Americans collectively choose to take will help set the course of history. According to founding director Rich Csenge, the 20th annual festival of learning opportunities at Amazing Earthfest can play a role by focusing attention on the importance of our relationship with the natural world.
Two decades ago, a guiding concept motivated the founders of Kanab’s Amazing Earthfest. The inspiration was to create a template for a new kind of festival of experiential learning events and activities that could be widely emulated. A public forum that would seek to develop and deepen societal awareness of our intrinsic connection to, and indeed, dependence upon nature as the enabling source for humanity to be able to thrive and evolve. To increase appreciation and respect for our magnificent public lands as engines for rural Utah economies. And to cast an eye to the future, to love, protect, and preserve the natural ecosystems of our planet and better comprehend our impacts upon them.
The community is invited to the 20th Annual Amazing Earthfest in May 2026 to discover and strengthen connections with others who love nature, and with America’s unmatched public estate, our National and State Parks, Forests, Monuments, and Public Lands. These places remain an inexhaustible source of ongoing inspiration as repositories of natural wonder, and a shared heritage for humanity and all forms of life.
