Clean out the closet, grab a cup of coffee, and help make a difference.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is partnering with Canyon Media for a Donation Day + LIVE Radio Remote in St. George on Friday, February 27, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The goal is simple and ambitious: collect 1,000 pounds of gently used donations in a single day to support youth mentorship programs across Southern Utah.
The community is invited to drive up and drop off items at 530 E Tabernacle St. Donations directly support mentoring relationships that help young people feel seen, supported, and confident.
“This is a simple way to clean out your closet, grab a treat, and directly support mentoring relationships that help young people feel seen, supported, and confident,” said Dave Hawk, Southern Utah Community Manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah.
Coffee, Donuts, and a Little Poké-Love
To keep the energy high, donors can enjoy free coffee from Perks! and purchase donuts on-site from Donut NV. Throughout the day, four Canyon Media radio stations will broadcast live, bringing music, interviews, and community updates straight from the event.
The first 10 donors will receive a small thank-you gift to House of Jump, Fiesta Fun, or Jersey Mike’s. Everyone who donates will be entered into a drawing for a $100 grand prize to a local restaurant.
In honor of Pokémon Day, also celebrated on February 27, donors can ask for a free Pokémon card—kindly donated by a fellow Big Sister and Pokémon enthusiast—while supplies last.
What to Bring
Accepted items include clothing of all sizes, blankets, linens, towels, books, décor, toys, small housewares, bags and purses, accessories, and shoes.
Every bag and box adds up toward the 1,000-pound goal and helps strengthen mentoring programs that connect youth with positive adult role models across the state.
