The skies above Colorado City will once again come alive with the sights and sounds of aviation as the annual Colorado City Airshow returns on Saturday, September 12. The event runs from 10 AM to 2 PM (Utah Mountain Time) at the Colorado City Municipal Airport, located at 1599 W. Airport Ave..
Now in another exciting year, the Colorado City Airshow continues to grow into one of the premier family-friendly aviation events in Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. Admission is free, making it a perfect opportunity for families, aviation enthusiasts, and visitors from across the region to experience an unforgettable day at the airport.
The airshow begins with an inspiring opening ceremony featuring Skydive Mesquite. Experienced parachutists will descend into the airport carrying a giant American flag, a patriotic patriotic jump that has become a crowd favorite to kick off the day of entertainment.
This year’s lineup features a mix of returning favorites and exciting first-time performers. Allen Cook of Denver, Colorado, returns to fly his restored North American T-28 Trojan. Cook’s warbird demonstration showcases the powerful radial engine and unmistakable roar of one of the most iconic military trainer aircraft ever built. Also returning is Brad Wursten from Logan, Utah. Known for an aggressive, high-energy flying style, Wursten pushes his aircraft to the limits with speed, precision, and G-forces.
Making a Colorado City debut is Yuichi Takagi, representing REDFOX Airshows from Apple Valley, California. Spectators will have the opportunity to watch Takagi perform in the Pitts S-2S, one of the world’s most respected aerobatic aircraft. Another first for the event is the Vanguard Squadron, which flies a dazzling three-ship formation aerobatic performance powered by ethanol. Their unique performance features breathtaking precision, teamwork, and smoke-filled maneuvers.
The Colorado City Airshow is made possible through the support of sponsors, including Pride Homes – The Heights at South Zion Estates, G-10 Construction, and Cyprus Property Management. In addition to the aerial performances, attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors serving breakfast and lunch.
