The annual Fort Desolation Music and Adventure Travel Fest is making its highly anticipated return to Southern Utah, offering an unmatched combination of world-class music and spectacular outdoor exploration. From September 24 through September 26, 2026, music lovers and adventure seekers will gather at Cougar Ridge Resort in Torrey, just minutes from the breathtaking cliffs and canyons of Capitol Reef National Park.
This year’s mainstage lineup features an incredible mix of national and regional talent, headlined by the likes of Drive-By Truckers, Andrew Bird, and Rayland Baxter. Attendees can also catch performances by Grahame Lesh and Friends, Futurebirds, Tune-Yards, and Bella White. Between the main sets, a brand-new second stage called the Sidewinder will showcase local artists, ensuring the music keeps flowing all weekend.
What makes this festival truly unique is its balance of daytime adventure and evening concerts. Festival founder Jeremy Rawle explained that attendance is intentionally limited to preserve an intimate, premium experience without long lines. By day, visitors can explore the surrounding red-rock backcountry through hiking, fly-fishing, or off-roading. Cyclists can also take part in the new Fort Desolation Fondo, a two-day gravel riding event organized alongside the Utah Gravel Series.
Back at the festival grounds, lodging ranges from spacious camping in a pristine alfalfa field to premium luxury villas and suites. The campground serves as a relaxed hub of activity, featuring cookouts, after-hours artist jams, and stargazing under Torrey’s famous dark skies. New additions for 2026 also include Camp Springbar for tent enthusiasts and limited access passes to the adults-only Oasis Pool and Fitness Facility.
