Mutts and Music Tuacahn 2On Saturday, Aug. 29, Tuacahn Center for the Arts will feature the fifth annual “Mutts and Music” concert, a musical cabaret offered by cast members from this year’s Tuacahn Center for the Arts shows, to benefit the Ivins No-Kill Animal Supporters. The benefit will take place at the indoor Hafen Theater in the Tuacahn High School at noon.

The variety show will include performances by actors starring in this year’s hit shows, from Disney’s “Beauty And The Beast” and “When You Wish” to “Sister Act.” However, instead of singing songs from the shows, the actors will break character and perform songs of their choosing pulled from their own repertoire.

Ivins No-Kill Animal Supporters believes that all animals deserve shelter, food, and compassionate care. It has supplied many of Ivins Animal Shelter’s needs, from quarantine cages to peanut butter to be stuffed in Kong training devices. The organization has provided patio covers for the outside cat areas, litter boxes, harnesses, leashes, and beds, and it pays for grooming when needed and provides specialty foods such as mother’s milk replacement and kitten and puppy food.

Mutts and Music Tuacahn 3The organization advertises adoptable shelter animals online, features pictures of adoptable cats and dogs at its booth at various community events, and—when possible—brings adoptable animals to those events as well. Members also assist Ivins Animal Shelter personnel at area super-adoption events such as those run at major pet stores.

Funds raised by the 2015 “Mutts and Music” will help support the various needs of the Ivins Animal Shelter. The money will help the shelter to provide veterinary care, supplies, training, grooming, maintenance, socializing, and much more. It will also assist the shelter in finding adoptive homes for the animals.

Make a full day of the event. Bring the whole family earlier on Saturday to enjoy the Tuacahn Saturday Market, which starts at 9 a.m. As it begins to get hot outside, enter the Hafen Theater at noon for a fantastic show full of talent, animals, and fun.

Tuacahn Center For The Arts and Ivins No-Kill Animal Supporters are both nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. The suggested donation for entrance is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
