The DSU Jazz Ensemble 2015-2016 season of performances kicks off with a concert on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theater of the Eccles Fine Arts Center.
The group, led by music department chair Dr. Glenn Webb, will perform “White Heat” by Jimmie Lunceford as well as a variety of big band era staples, such as “Intermission Riff” and “Peanut Vendor.” Also on the program are exciting arrangements that break from the traditional big band sound and feature student soloists in contemporary settings.
Tickets are available at the door or through the Avenna Center Box Office. Tickets are $5 per person and $1 for Dixie State University students, faculty, and staff. High school musicians may receive complimentary tickets by contacting the DSU music department at (435) 879-4791.
