Growth is taking place all around southern Utah. Come learn about what developments are in the works, how the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce and local businesses are preparing for the future, and how the economy looks going forward at the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce annual Economic Summit to be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, in Festival Hall.
The Cedar City Chamber of Commerce Economic Summit begins at 10 a.m. with Business Practices Boot Camp sponsored by the Dixie Leavitt Insurance Agency. Topics for the workshops taking place throughout the day include: Helping Your Business to Succeed, Government Regulations and Human Resource Management, Marketing Strategies, Financial and Accounting Practices, Insurance Regulation and Coverage Overview, Security in the Workplace, Customer Service, The Effects of Tourism on the Local Economy, and International Trade.
The workshops will break for the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon, which will feature Congressman Chris Stewart from noon to 1:30. This will be followed by networking until 2 p.m. at which point the next set of Business Practices Boot Camp workshops will begin. Workshops will end at 4:45. The evening program will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Festival Hall with keynote speaker Val Hale, the executive director for the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The day’s events will also include reports from Southern Utah University, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Southwest Applied Technology College, Grifols, MSC Aerospace, Foursquare Properties.
